I was at a crafting retreat this weekend. I did a bunch of scrapbooking and made some new cards. Here is one of them that I made. I love this funky paper!

The Completed Wedding Invitations

Here they are! I finally finished 165 of them last Friday night. I was supposed to bring them to my cousin's shower on Saturday, but I was actually really sick last week and couldn't make it to the shower so my wonderful sister and mother brought em with them to the shower.

Thanks Mom and Michelle!

They are 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" on Opal Stardream paper for the outside folder.

The band on the front is dark Chocolate Brown Basis Card Stock paper that I bought in huge Parent Sheets and cut down to 1 1/8" x 14". The green is Olive text weight Basis paper cut to approx 1" x 14".
The front square is a 2 1/8" square punch by Marvy Uchida, the Purple one. We(my husband) printed the front square on the computer in full sheets and trimmed them to approx 2" x 2" because we couldn't find a punch the right size. Then I stamped the center flourish thing with a clear stamp in a lighter green ink.

The Cherry Blossom branch stamp is by Rubber Stampede. I kept thinking it looked like a Dogwood branch. That was the look we wanted anyway... I stamped them all in Chocolate Chip Ink by Stampin Up and colored them in with Prisma Colored pencils.

The RSVP"s were printed 4 to a page(I think they call it a 4 Bar) so it was easy to cut in half and then in half again. They are a postcard style so you don't have to buy an extra envelope, plus pay the extra postage. this way you only have to pay the Postcard rate.

The maps were printed 2 to a page then trimmed down(again by my husband) to approx. 5 1/2" x 5 3/4". We first used the map off of the reception website and then decided to make our own because theirs really didn't make sense. My husband made it Microsoft Publisher and added the river, important roads and other important markers. Then he typed the driving directions on the bottom.

The main invite wording was done on a cream paper that co-ordinated with the outside Opal color and was matted in the same Olive Green Basis text weight paper and a gold paper. The wedding colors are lots of Green Flowers and a small amount of Golds and Dusty Rose.
You can click on any of the photos to see them bigger.
This is an extra one so don't mind any of the "flaws" hahaha

Thanks for looking!
I also have to add how much I enjoyed this process. I have been working on it since January with my cousin, going back and forth with different ideas. I feel like I wouldn't have come up with this all on my own without my cousin's great feedback. Her family was so easy to work with and it was truly a joy being able to do these for them and have them be so happy with them. Thanks to the Brinkman's and Zika's for letting me be a part of this!

Fathers Day

I hope everyone had a great Father's Day yesterday!

I still have my dad around so we went and spent the day with him and my mom at my sister's house. It was the first year without my Father-In-Law. I think it was a little strange for my husband to not be able to call his father and wish him a happy day, but his sister called us on our way to church so I think that helped.

Here is a photo of my husband and our daughter yesterday.

Camping Breakfast

We went camping this past weekend, the weather was perfect, no bugs, not too hot and tons of stars.
Here was our Sunday breakfast, well my plate anyway. Yummy!

Baby Quilt

No, I am not doing the quilt, my crafty sister-in-law is doing that part of it.... I had the bright idea after I saw this free pattern to make something for my cousin's new baby. We found out it was a boy so now we can do the baby boy thing. I bought some fabric to do a quilt ahead of time & we all thought it looked too much like a boy, so we had to wait to see what she was having, but now we are all good!

I embroidered this piece to match the fabric, using what I already had on hand. It's very pastel and not so bright, but it goes with the fabric. So now it's Alyson's turn to work her magic. I had the easy part :) Can't wait to see what she comes up with.

The Baby Cake

Here is the awesome cake that Danielle made for my cousin! She is super talented and whipped this up in less than 2 days. Thanks Danielle :)
As you can see she made it to match the card I made for them. My cousin didn't know what she was having so I tried to make it more of a "Mommy" card. They had a little boy named Benjamin.
The angel up in the clouds on top of the cake represents our grandfather who is looking down & watching over them. So Sweet.

Yeh, Baby is coming

My cousin/friend has been on bed rest for 14 weeks and is going to the hospital tomorrow morning to have a C-Section. My crazy cake making friend Danielle is whipping up something awesome and sentimental that I can bring with me when I go to visit her & her family in the hospital.

I made this card(and will post my first photo tutorial showing how I made it later). The cake is going to match this basic card idea & colors. I can't wait to see what Danielle will come up with! Remember the Mini Sushi Cakes Here that she made for Goldy? Like I said crazy.

The color is off a little, it is a much richer red color in real life and I had to add the blue button for the baby element :) She doesn't know what she is having yet, so we will have to wait and see.

Wedding Invitations

Here is a photo of the pile I made of the middle wording section for the wedding invites I am working on. These have been printed, trimmed and stamped with the flower on the top right corner. They still need to be colored & I will post a pic of that when I get it done. Not sure how many I need to do yet, somewhere between 130 and 170. This is only 50 of them...baby steps...

I have blurred out the personal info for my cousin's protection :)

We went down to the Stone Arch Bridge last weekend to enjoy the awesome sunny day! Here are some of the pics we took around Downtown Mpls.
