Finally - I made some Cards

This card is based on a layout challenge over at Fresh & Fun I think I am too late to enter the challenge but it motivated me to try a new sketch.

My daughter and I got down to the craft room for a little while yesterday so I made a few cards I will be posting. I made some men's birthday cards for once. I kinda owe them to my aunt. I will tell ya about it later when I post them.
It is 6x6" square made with Ruby cardstock by Core Color Coredinations(new at joanns), The awesome striped paper is from a monster designer pad by We R memory Keepers. The blue, brown & green are scraps. White is Whisper White by SU. I stamped the Agapanthus Cluster by Stampendous in "Tea Leaves" (a Dew Drop thingy) by VersaMagic. The groovy blue flower and brad I got in a swap I did. I also punched a brown circle and crinkled it to go under the brad and bring the brown to the front corner.
Thanks for looking!

Just Because I Care

I thought I would try Jen Del Muro's Sketch Challenge this week. Here is a link to her awesome site: http://iheart2stamp.com/2009/03/07/sketch-for-you-to-try-12/ I turned it sideways to make work with my stamped image. I really want to build up my stash of Sympathy type cards and I like to have some uni-sex ones on hand for whenever I need one. So I tried to keep it simple and sorta manly.

The white and brown card stock are by Stampin Up, the dotted paper is by American Crafts (which I took my Exacto to the edges to rough it up), Ribbon is by Martha Stewart. The branch image is by Rubber Stampede which I colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and the sentiment is part of a hostess set by SU. Thanks for looking!

Little Star

I made this cute baby card for Splitcoast Stampers card layout challenge for this week. I got this Martha Stewart paper from a friend not too long ago and thought I would put it to good use.

The Chocolate and Baja Breeze are from Stampin Up otherwise the rest of the paper is by Martha Stewart. The stamps are a set by Inkadinkado. The button was something I received in a embelle swap a while ago. I'm not sure I really love this card but I love the layout this week.

It's Your Special Day

Here is the gift card holder/card that I ended up giving to my sister for her birthday. This is the same pattern as the Seriously one below. The finished size is 4.25 square. There is a pattern for this over at: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=400019
Both of the patterned papers are by American Crafts. The blue is Baja Breeze by SU. The sentiment stamps are all part of the Birthday Wishes set by Scrappy Cat. The mini cupcake is from a $ Studio G set at Michael's. I colored it in with Prisma Colored Pencils. The black paper is misc. I Inked the edges with Black Versafine to age it a little.

Seriously? TLC196

The Monday challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers is Try a New Technique, this week was a Pop-Up Gift Card Holder. I really needed a gift card holder today too! My sister's birthday was Saturday and I was out of town. This year I bought her a gift card and needed something fun to put it in, plus a card. This is a two for one deal really!

I decided to use the stamps that I just won from My Favorite Things(see below). I am really happy with how it turned out, but my sister is in her upper 30's and I thought this one might seem too teen for her :) I am making her a another one that will fit her better. I really love the card and gift holder together! I will post the one for my sister after it's done.

I stamped the image with Black Versafine on Whisper White paper. I paper pieced the flowered part of the shirt and colored the rest with Prisma Colored Pencils. The flower Rhinestones are by Marcella and the rest are misc. Ribbon is from the $ section somewhere. Base card is Kraft and the brown is Chocolate Chip. Thanks For Looking!

Sketch Challenge 203

Here is this weeks Sketch Challenge over at Splitcoast Stampers. Here is my take on it. It was a fun one to try!

I used Chocolate Chip for the base card. The designers papers are from the Ski Slope paper pack by Stampin Up. The blue is Baja Breeze by SU. I inked most of the edges in brown and drew the faux stitched lines with a ruler and a black marker. I punched the snowflakes out of Cottonwood paper and a punch by EK Success. The Rhinestones are misc brands. The Believe stamp is by Stampendous, stamped in Black Versafine. The Dove is part of the "To You & Yours" set by SU. I added Stickles to the tail for some sparkle but it wasn't enough, so I added Diamond Dust Glitter when the Stickles was still wet. Now it sparkles! TFL!

Merry Christmas Card

I made this card for Beate's Weekend Challenge #66.
This Snow globe stamp is from the $ section at Michael's(along with the Merry Christmas). I stamped it on Whisper White and colored it with Prisma Colored Pencils, then added Stickles to the snow to make it sparkle. I stamped the Kraft card stock with Versamark Ink and then rubbed it with Gold Pearl-Ex. The designer paper is Foxy Flowers by Stemma. Greenish and red are misc. The Brown that was used is Chocolate Chip. The white mini snowflakes are actually nail art I found on clearance somewhere. TFL!

BOOT-ilicious Card

I got a page of these stamped images from a friend a couple of weeks ago and wasn't sure what to do with them. I used my Prisma Colored Pencils and cut them out and put Diamond Glaze and glitter on them and let them dry. The Edges kind of curled up which I love!

More details to come....

Weekend Sketch Challenge 60 by Beate

Here is a funky card I made for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #60. http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/category/weekend-sketch-challenge/
I had some, ok lots, of paper sitting in little piles on my workspace and thought these looked good together. I am always looking for non-traditional ideas for cards and thought this might work for an anniversary card for someone who enjoys the outdoors -with a little style!
I used CM Smoke card stock for the base, blue scrap, probably Joann's, Amy Butler(can't use it enough) designer paper, Pink is from Archiver's, Green strip is new Kiwi Kiss scrap made to look like a road. I cut the truck off of a stamp that was pulling a big camper by Stamp House and popped it up on dimensionals. Tent stamp is by Art Gone Wild and Happy Anniversary is Wordsworth. TFL!

Weekend Sketch Challenge by Beate

My first weekend sketch challenge by Beate(http://beate.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/)! It was a fun one, but I ended up turning the layout to fit my guitar image. I just bought these Inkadinkado Rock Star stamps and I am having a lot of fun with them. This is a 6x6 square card. I used the Threading Waters punch by Fiskars and taped it close to the edge so you couldn't see the holes, which I thought gave it a "flowing" look.
I stamped the bottom skulls all in a row & cut them out to make a border. The tiny strip of "seed" paper on the left side is by Amy Butler. I REALLY love her paper & fabric right now. My SIL and I made some "Crazy Pants" with the fabric. Funny thing is they were crazy for her & normal for me :) The card paper is a charcoal gray by Creative Memories. Mating paper is from Joann's and the stripe is some funky stuff I picked up along the way. TFL!

White Card Challenge

I have never tried to do one of the challenges over at Splitcoast Stampers when they are current. I have tried some of the layouts that I have printed out to do later, but this is my first one on the day it came out! It was a challenge because I am not usually one to use white. My fingers are usually very inky and it always gets all over the white paper! I tried my hardest to keep it clean :) The challenge was basically to use white as your main color, can use black, brown or gray and one other color to accent. Your ink had to match your paper color. No patterned paper, no distressing. I also tried to score the background to give it some interest.

I was inspired by my friend Goldy when I did the rocker cards. I just bought these new "Rock Star" stamps by Inkadinkado and couldn't wait to use. I was thinking of using them for a Christmas card? hmmmm
